I wouldn't be surprised if 1 of the bags was worth more than the car when it was new. :p

Obviously they wouldn't be able to get anything near retail but they will likely get more than they would from stripping the car for parts.

It is probably easier too to move on handbags than having to strip a car and then sell the parts.

seriously?

2grand starting price for a handbag?

Not really.

It's maybe £100 (to be very generous) for the handbag and £1900+ for the privilege of being allowed to be an advert for the company. Which some people want for some reason. People with lots of spare money often spend it frivolously. May as well, I suppose, if you have it spare. Excess money isn't directly useful. You could use it to get more money, but if you already have excess money then what's the point? If you spend it on something you like, it's useful to you. Handbag, watch, painting, whatever.

On top of that, it might also simply be a matter of what the people they know who deal in stolen goods want. Stolen car parts are worthless if you don't know someone who'll buy stolen car parts.

So it still costs £2k+. So, 'yes really,' regardless of whatever socialist/whatever nobody gives a toss about nonsense agenda you're looking to push.

Blah blah socialist blah blah. Maybe you can work 'liberal' into the next bit of blather.

The cost is not all for the handbag. You can talk whatever political nonsense you like, but that won't change. If it was true, then an equally useful handbag with the same quality of manufacturing would cost the same. It doesn't. Because the cost is not all for the handbag. That is not a political statement. It is, however, a statement of the obvious.

Wtf are you on about?

The label says £2k, so that's what it costs the individual at the point of purchase. Nobody's talking about manufacturing costs versus the retail price. You're arguing a point nobody has made, so the logical assumption is you're going off on one.

Well done Sherlock :p
The way the rest of the world sells products is they have a single purchase price. You don't walk into the Carphone Warehouse and see phones priced up by the individual components :D

You need to know about cars and you need the contacts to shift dodgey parts, you also need somewhere to store it off the grid.

To sell stolen designer handbags is much much easier, any old thicko can do that.
