Hi there,

I just need some advice on a CPU cable extension/information which I am not 100% sure on. This is the system specifications I got :

Motherboard : Asus Z87-A
Power Supply Unit : Corsair AX860 860W

Now I been looking at this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CB-066-AK&groupid=1929&catid=2221. However I noticed it said ATX12V in the description, which can be run at full 12v and use as a extension cable. The lead uses a 8 pin to 4+4 pin connector, from power supply to the motherboard.

However, then I looked at this item : http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CM-034-BX&groupid=1929&catid=2221

It is a EPS cable, Now the question is that can I also use this as a CPU extension cable at all ? It is 8 pin to 8 pin. So the 4+4 pins will connect into them any ways. The 2nd question is, are they wired differently and made to work different voltages etc?

I have also checked the manual guide for this motherboard is does say this for the CPU power supply connector "ATX power connectors (24-pin EATXPWR, 8-pin EATX12V)". I do know that 24pin is ok, it's the "8-pin EATX12V" I just need to make sure on. So I can use this item: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CM-034-BX&groupid=1929&catid=2221 as an extender.

Only reason why am being fussy, is I like all the same colour flow lol!

Thanks for the reply's guys. I was not sure, if the wires was wired differently for different voltages from the power pack to the motherboard. On further research, the EPS is just the same as a CPU extension cable.
