Hello, my friend is having trouble with his new riq, as the fps only while recording drop drasticly to 20-25fps. One of the examples is minecraft, from 250-400fps to 20-23fps. But the problem appears also on games like mafia...

Spec:
Intel xenon e3-1230v3
Cooler SilentiumPC Fera 2 HE1224
MSI-B85 G43SC
Asus PCI-N10
Crucial Ballistix 16GB (2x8GB)
SSD Plextor 128GB
Western Digital Green 2.0TB
Gigabyte gtx 780
Corsair RM 650w

System: Windows 7 64x Ultimate

The problem is I can't physically go on to the PC, the things I could have checked by teamviewer. I have checked and the pc seems to be fine, as there are no problems when not recording.

Edit

Actions taken
- Benchmarking done by programs such as: Valley Benchmark, 3d firestrike, Intel Burn in Test
- Reinstall of the whole system
- Reinstall of different drivers
- I played around with the 3d settings but that didn't help either.

Where are the recordings being saved? What software is being used to record and at what settings?
I tried both, SSD and WD = Same outcome
Program are: Fraps, OBS, Action!
These programs are installed on the WD green, so are the games

^ If it's being saved to the WD Green that's probably the bottleneck due to it spinning much slower than your usual drive.
I tried both, SSD and WD = Same outcome

Edit

He installed the drivers by 'DriverEasy'

Edit2

Now after doing a system restore he has around 40-60fps in Mafia 2 with everything maxed out.

My go to recording / streaming is usually OBS or DXtory if that doesn't work which is rare these days.

Is he using direct game/surface capture or screen capture ?
Screen capture will run like turd FYI.
