Using the wire resistence program. (download it here, its good https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxGcL1JOoEcyb2JRUGNKUFZpSDg/edit?pli=1 )
Using 32awg or 0.2mm kanthal with 5mm legs to the connectors
7 wraps around a 1.4mm bit or nail will get you 2.1oHms
to get 1.7oHms you would need a 1mm drill bit with 7 wraps.

The wire is just too thin to get down to lower ohms around 1.3. (5 wraps around a 1mm bit)
Have you tried doubling the wire to increase the thickness?
There are guides on youtube to do it, but basically you attach about a foot of wire thats been folded in half into a drill.
And holding opposite end with pliers you start the drill slowly and wrap the wire around each other so it looks like rope.
This should half the resistence of the wire iirc.

Good guide cheers, I have just watched the drill method - seems decent will try it a try later and report back.

Try a Fogger V4. Got mine rigged up with a 0.5ohm build, the amount of vapour the thing produces over the kayfun is phenomenal.

Just a quick one. I have an iClear head and was wondering if I should be cleaning it from time to time. If so how should I clean it?

Absolutely, take it all apart, give it a wash out under the tap. Let it dry out and then 'dry burn' it. It won't make it as brand new but will give it more life. Check YouTube for a tutorial vid. :)

Here's todays Vape-porn for you!

Sophia and Cage on a GP Paps Mechanical Mod. The Paps is awesome - built like a brick out-house!

How's the Cage? I've been eyeing one of those for my Sophia, though recently I've been getting quite annoyed with "her" and repeated dry hits/poor wicking. I rebuild coils with cotton and cut it real short/close to the cup, but still have to keep unscrewing it almost the entire way to wet the wick -- much like a dripper -- every time I want to use it. Unscrew a little too much and it's flood city. Trying to use it "normally" by only opening as far as the juice control holes is just no good at all. Dries up real quick.

Likely your coil is too far down into the cup. I had exactly the same problem when recoiling the sophia (that and constantly breaking the ceramics bah) until I raised up the coil to near the top of the cup and only used a small bit of cotton cut off so the tails of the cotton came down to the top of the slots in the base and no further (i.e. they do not go into the wick slots in the base because they strangle on the threads when wet) . After that it was OK open about 1.5 to 2 turns.

The cage looks great i f a bit over-priced, although I did drop it and the glass cracked although Jeff from House of Mods has told me I am the only one to have managed to break it to his knowledge. The new glass is only 7 quid.

The thing I love about the Sohpia is that it just does not leak. Ever.

Cheers for that. Might try a rebuild or rewick right now to see how it goes.

If you manage to flood it, it'll leak. Oh yes... it'll leak. :D

I find it strange that it's necessary to build the coil above the cup, considering the pre-built coils are right in the middle of it. Such a nightmare to drop a coil in when you aren't just resting your screwdriver/nail/whatever across the cup slots. I'll take a pic shortly and show you how mine currently is.
