If its a new connection I believe its opted in by default now.

If it's not I really don't know.

Log onto your BT account and you should be able to disable that.
I went on to check my bill the other day and it gave me the option to turn it on...obviously I said no

You can customise it to block shopping a social networking, after 30 minutes of no Facebook the other half will be asking for it to be switched off.
