That's just an old rumour that's already been posted a while back.

From logic and business point of view, it would make far more sense for Nvidia to milk the skinny Maxwell for the time being, and leave the launch of fat Maxwell till after MS launching dx12.

They wouldn't release the Titan 2 so quickly right after the 980, as they would want people to that upgraded to 980 to upgrade to Titan 2 as well!

Like I said said on the other thread before it got removed, Nvidia will most probably release the Titan 2 under the big flying label FULL dx12 support (not the partial dx12 support people getting with the 970/980), and temp Nvidia users (those that can afford) to buy them regardless of if they already got 780/980 etc.

MS won't finalize the spec until... next year sometime? End of next year they said the first games will come but the actual DX12 will probably be available with Win9. It's possible it could be left out of the initial release though.

the spec must be pretty much done even if the actual implementation isn't - games take more than 1 year to develop (typically 2-3) so if they are saying games by end of next year then those games must be in development already, even if they are doing an AMD-like "3 months to add DX12 support", they must already have games in the pipeline who have signed up to DX12 to have any confidence in meeting that deadline

DX12 is not out yet.

Implying that hardware won't be DX12-ready until end-users have it on their systems.
