Hmmm.... I wonder if stopping Orange Wednesdays gives an indicator of which mobile company BT _might_ be buying then?!
Oh and on the subject of snacks.
The cinema staff have no right to search you. They can of course refuse you entry to the screen if you don't submit, but at the end of the day it's your choice as to if you let them look inside bags etc.
At our screen they do speak to people carrying obvious "purchased elsewhere" items, but never seen any kind of bag searching. So the wife will take the sweets in her handbag - she owns bigger bags if we're taking popcorn instead
Also, and this is the bigger issue - you don't need snacks while you watch a film!
Had to look that one up, it makes a completely different thing up here!
Has anyone tried to cancel based on this? Would be nice as my contract is 167 plus vat per month.
£35-40?? Just buy a can and a bag of popcorn outside, that'll bring it down to about £20!!
You pay over £2400.00 per year for your phone contract

They'll probably jump in bed with Netflix or lovefilm now instead.
Exactly, maybe a "nEEtflix night in" or something where you get access to Netflix for free one night a week.
Oh goody! Big screen experience with 3d and IMAX, or low bitrate streaming at home. People really prefer this nowadays?

I've been to the cinema many many many times on a Wednesday, and it's rarely been anything less than absolutely fine!
It may be HD in resolution but it's still fairly low bitrate isn't it? I recall something like the total stream bitrate being similar to just one of the audio tracks on a BluRay disc, nevermind the video.
