The shows have advertising when sold to partner networks, too.

I wonder how long it is going to take for the BBC to realise this..and if they are financially responsible to their rights holders, how do they intend to redress that and how much will cost.

The shows have sponsors/advertising, BBC2 doesn't and can't.

Simples

the overseas broadcasts of the TV shows with third party commercial broadcasters and BBC America have advertising too

there really isn't a big distinction to be made in terms of broken contracts etc.. here

cancelling the TV shows breached contracts with various TV stations etc..

Some people are a bit slow tbh.

His contract with the BBC was terminated. He no longer works with/for the BBC.

His contract with BBC Worldwide (a separate commercial business) is not over yet and must continue due to contractual obligations with many other companies, ie the production company, venues, etc.

It wasn't.

Which would include the BBC WW contracts with its right holders for the TV show also. This would form part of his contract with the BBC.

I suspect they already know. It's unlikely that some people on the internet noticed first.

if it were another person you might well find that losing your contract with one part of the group is enough to stop you from working for the group as a whole

supposing joe bloggs the fintech IT wizard contracts for a couple of different legal entites within the RBS group, he punches someone at the commercial bank and they terminate his contract, are they likely to keep his contract going at some other entity within the RBS group?

His contract with BBC Worldwide (a separate commercial business) is not over yet and must continue due to contractual obligations with many other companies, ie the production company, venues, etc.

there were contractual obligations with the TV show too but that didn't stop them, thus the OP quite rightly calling it a big fudge....
