Never realised the early xxD models were so expensive :/

I bought it on day of launch from Park Cameras in September 2004 so will have paid the RRP. It was probably under £1k after Xmas.
Early digital SLR's were expensive though - the Canon D60 (2002)was nearly £2k and the D30 @ 3mp (2000) close to £3K

Got a Cannon 5D MKii which is the most expensive body i have ever bought. I will say though that in the very early 1980's i bought a brand new Zenza Bronica Etrsi, which i am sure in real terms, was a lot more than the 5D MKii.
The most expensive lens i own is a 300mm f2.8, i do use a 400mm f2.8 regularly, but it actually belongs to a very good friend.

Sony A6000 and I only shoot vintage manual focus lenses, most expensive is my Tamron Adaptall SP 400mm f4, which is very rare and not often seen for sale. Paid around £600 to import it from America.

D800E + 35/1.4G

Although if we're going by original RRP I'm sure it'd go to one of my medium format film cameras (Pentax 67/Rolleiflex 2.8F) or my Leica M4.

Currently my most expensive single item is my Sony RX1, will be a Leica Q soon :)

On the interchangeable side, I use an E-M1 and a variety of Panaleica lenses but none come close to my compact/s in price!
