New build time - X99 vs Z170

Hey,

Been a bit out of the loop having not had a gaming PC for a while. With the release of Skylake, I think its time to get back into it. I'll be gaming at 1920x1200. Be mostly playing most recent games, along with some FSX. Which one should I go for? I currently have the following items:

X99 it is then, pity Skylake doesn't appear to be that much of a jump compared to Haswell. Looks as though I'll have to get the 2011-3 mount for the cooler, didn't buy the one that comes with it as I wasn't expecting to need it.

Edit: Are the MSI boards any good? Bit cheaper but will stick with Gigabyte if its better.

So finished building the PC and I'm not getting anything on the monitor. Just starts, runs for 30 seconds, then turns off. This loops until I force a shutdown. Any ideas?

Panic over, think a couple a couple of the ram sticks weren't quite pushed down enough. Or at least it's started working after I did that lol
