With my 4790k, at stock speeds but set so turbo will hit 4.4ghz on all cores, my h80i can just about cope.
The water temp doesn't even hit 40 degrees Celsius according to link, yet the CPU can get as high as 90 according to core temp when running Linx Linpack. It just doesn't take heat away from the chip very well. I've remounted it several times, and fitted spacers to the back of the mounting bracket so that it isn't loose before I apply the block. No help.
I can actually hit 5.0ghz and boot to windows. It doesn't crash at this speed, but under load it thermal throttles.
I want to be able to actually run at 5ghz. What do I need, cooling wise?
