Can my exhaust be welded?

You guys reckon that can be welded? Just behind the muffler.

That should weld ok. Looks like it's been gone for a while! For the cost of replacement it's probably worthwhile replacing it.

Thanks...I've done a ghetto repair for now with coathanger holding the majority of the muffler weight and a can that held pilchards connecting the two open ends. Some coathanger put thru the can to stop it slipping all the way into the muffler or pipe.

Just found a hole further up the exhaust pipe so looks like I'm better off replacing it from the mufflers up to but not including the cat.

Mufflers are only fitted to American cars, we have silencers in the UK...

That pipe looks pretty thin due to corrosion, and if so it would be a pain in the ballsack to weld and would likely fail again pretty quickly.

What car is it and which part of the exhaust, it might be more cost effective to replace it rather than pay someone to weld it.
