I volunteer as a first aider with St John Ambulance some weekends, and depending on what your local unit is like and what event you're covering that can be good fun, rewarding too :). Most units will have weekly evening meetings, and at least one duty a week (totally optional whether you go or not), and then you'll have to do a training course annually (a couple of weekends).

Ok, plenty of ideas here then, I knew you lot weren't as bad as I've been told!

Shooting/airsoft, dog walking, national trust and maybe gym are fave so far.

I like the St Johns idea too, might have a good look into that, had a fundraiser knock the door on the weekend and had a good chat with him.

Keep the suggestions coming! Be interesting to here off anyone with local knowledge about specific things to see/visit

Saturdays I work 9-4, and Sundays 9-6, so not much except some walking to/from work, a stop at my friends' pizza place and some early evening beers and playstation.

My weekend is really Thursday and Friday, during which I sleep a lot, go to the beach, do a pub quiz, try to plan my classes for the following week, study a bit, go for long shopping trips to find things to cook with (hard to find things, like cheese), go see my wife at work (justification for sitting around in a bar), or just sit about and read.

E/ actually I recently bought an electric guitar, which is the first time I've had one since moving out here, so a good amount of free time is also spent trying to remember things I used to play.

Do stuff around the house. I've just started laying flooring in my loft. Should keep me occupied for a few weeks (I'm rubbish at DIY).
I also go to a pub quiz every Sunday night. Makes Monday at work less enjoyable but it's good fun.

Ooh I can chime in

Had nothing to do in weekend not long ago now

Gym class Sunday morning (gets you up, and feels good for the whole day)
I do rowing now Saturday morning (not best time of year)
Saturday I spend all afternoon doing board games in the pub, Really complicated ones.. Seriously this is so fun in a group of 30! I'm at the pub 1400 till 2300
On Sunday night I go to another local social group

The last two were from meet up website
Rowing was just something to socialise and get hot
The gym class is to feel good, get hot (I do body pump)
