I've been out of the loop for a while (again).

He needs the standard £700ish gaming rig. Nothing too hardcore.

I'll put in a reasonably good after market cooler later on.
Hes still deciding a case so thats not in the build.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £709.99
(includes shipping: £11.10)

I don't know how good EVGA PSU's are, I was first looking at super flower.
The CPU and SSD seem fine.

However I'm not sure on the motherboard pricing. I only picked it because I have really good experience with Asus software. Also I heard AMD GPUs have improved a lot. So what is the AMD equivalent to the 970?

Thank you.

Thanks stulid. I forgot to check the bundle section!

Super flower are still solid then I guess and I'm not a big fan of Toshiba hard drives even though the warranty is the same.

However you would still stick with the 970 right?

Well now the case has been confirmed and the Asus GC price went back to normal.

This is pretty much the final build.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £764.02
(includes shipping: £13.20)

The 212 from my experience has been the most solid air CPU cooler in terms of price.
The network card chosen has several 5 star reviews, so I'm going with that.
And he doesn't really need an SSD.

Any changes Stulid or anyone else?

Dang that is true, some have said on other sites that it fits without forcing it and some have said there is no chance unless you want to force it real hard.

Its the same scenario with my old case but that was like a 10mm difference.

The review on the Overclockers site says that he put in a Phanteks PH-TC14PE but was a tight squeeze and thats 171mm with the fans. (I think)

Worth taking the risk?

Probably not worth the risk unless your not bothered about it stopping the build while you await an RMA and new cooler delivery.
