Mods can you add a Poll?
- Yes
- No
- Never heard about it but I'm getting jitters from this thread.

Frustrated with the AN-94 in Battlefield 3 I asked a mate to dump his magazine into the wall. I couldn't believe what I saw and heard. It was like he had some rapid fire mod. No wonder I am always coming out worse against these players and they drop me like a sack of spuds.

I asked him to then post how many clicks he does in 10 seconds using this tool:
http://www.brainbashersgames.com/games/10seconds.asp

I was pretty proud with my result of 55 whilst holding the mouse comfortably for FPS games. He then came back with a score of 97 using one finger and 130 using two fingers

I then was curious and discovered jitter clicking and asked myself, is this a natural way to play for people, especially competitive gamers? Watch the video below to see what it is:

ONLY 122 clicks and he can do better.

I asked my mate which mouse he uses and it was a Razer Deathadder which is apparently known for having low button travel and resistance making clicking easier. I have the G502 and whilst I cannot quantify it's resistance as I do not have a force meter or data to compare it against, for me it has low resistance.

There really isn't many competitive games where clicking fast helps you a lot.

None that I can think of anyway.

RTS games, etc.

For BF4 though there isn't much benefit in "jitter" clicking with something like the AN-94 over properly bursting with half-reasonable recoil control - in a lot of cases you'll have to mag dump to beat the netcode against someone spraying and praying with a high rate of fire weapon anyhow unless you are insanely good at making headshots - can be a bit different in games like CS where the "netcode" doesn't try to roll such a big event history into one update.

The single shot and burst fire modes are artificially rate limited in BF4 anyhow to prevent you significantly beating their on paper stats with macros, etc.

Oh one thing I nearly forgot - the AN-94 is one of those weird weapons where switching to burst mode (tap V twice with default settings IIRC) doubles the rate of fire - you only need to be clicking around 30/s to max it out though - you will get beat by someone rapidly bursting it in burst mode over automatic fire (600 v 1200 rpm).

(Something your "friend" probably isn't telling you).

That background sound...

Some of the Korean finals for stuff like SC they have to be going it like mad or they will lose.

That losira video is keyboard, not mouse. Look at his fingers on the mouse, he doesn't even click much, and 90% of the things he is clicking does nothing to help his game, its just to keep his hands moving.

Why do you think APM has anything to do with winning games? http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/GoOdy this guy is known for having incredibly low APM and he still competed at the highest levels for a while, and still pretty good now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oayncywGHYQ
