Some people!
I don't understand the new internet ego boost, be it images, or 6 seconds of video. I would be very embarrassed to be all over the world looking like a complete tool.
Two examples I can think of are that fat guy who screams weird stuff at people in London, or that weirdo kid who pretends to be women with PMT.

fair play to him - seems like a fun guy. but how much is he doing it for his kids and how much really for his own ego i.e. facebook likes!?!

I may have become a pessimist in my advancing years, but I just think this is more for him than his kids

What the heck is "elf on a shelf", I don't get it!

For the uninitiated (i.e. blissfully child-free), the tradition is inspired by an American children’s picture book, written in 2005, which explains how Santa uses his elves to find out who’s been naughty and nice in the lead up to Christmas.

The elves are basically tiny, badly-behaved, spies.

The book is sold with a tiny elf figure which parents leave around the house, in various situations and positions, for their children to find.
