Some suggestions it could be a bug where it accidentally uses free RAM to calculate free storage space instead of the internal storage.

Seems odd - Then this I found odd too -

My daughters and Wife's phone have both just lost wifi permanently.

Nothing else affected just the Microsoft phones, tried everything soft power off, hard reset, aeroplane mode, reflashed one phone with Microsoft device software and reinstalled the firmware - nothing.

My concern is how do you fix this with no wifi available to download a fix - reckon they'll both be going back as not fit for purpose - they fubar
