Yeah exactly.

Anyway, I have been looking around for bits for my early 03 curvy SV 650. Assuming both of my tests go well next week *touch wood* then I'll be buying crash bungs, along with a nice exhaust. However I'm confused at what I'm looking at, I like the Scorpion ones, but how do I know that it would fit?

To be fair I'm actually worried about my tests too... I know to treat them as a lesson and do everything the way I have been taught. Perhaps I'm over thinking it all :(

Look for a model which states it fits a 99-02 SV and that'll fit.

I've been considering doing a bit of an epic journey (for a newbie :p) to get some miles under my belt, but not sure if a 5 hour or so ride would be too much... Obviously it would be broken up with breaks. Here's a google map of the proposed route:

Would I be asking for trouble, or should I just go for it this weekend (weather depending!)

I don't know about on a 125 but I done a similar thing only a couple of weeks after getting my SV 5 hours straight from Wolves to Barmouth and I done the 3.5 hour ride down to Brighton about 2 days after getting it and it was fine.

We're luckily that Wales is only a relatively short ride away, some great roads over there.

The forecast is heavy rain all day Saturday and not much better Sunday though so might be worth waiting :D

It's the 125 thing which is the concern :D

If you're not used to it then you'll certainly be tired by the end, but you'll also have had a lot of fun - go for it! Seems a shame not to get into the Shropshire Hills though when you're so close.

I'm happy for anyone to propose changes to the route. The guys at work suggested the Abergavenny to Bulith Wells stretch is great, the rest is open to change. It'll be on a 125, so no M ways sadly.

Just be aware that when you get lost in Abergavenny all the signs start calling you Mardy.

Maybe more like this. The A483 from Newtown to Builth wells is a absolutely cracking road, lots of awesome bends. I'd basically set that as your main gold, and just choose the best roads to get there and back :D I do that sometimes with the A272 down south, the roads getting there don't matter too much :)

I'm tempted by a Gen2 Tuono in the summer, this bike looks in very good condition, love the colour matched wheels, and that price!! 130bhp 1000cc v-twin, a little wind protection and decent comfort for long trips...:D

Not great pictures, but that fact the mirrors are turned in and it's in their living room in one pic would indicate it's been well looked after :p

Chaps. Ive just spent an hour cleaning the chain on my Honda hornet, used petrol in the end and came up very nice

I intend to wash the bike tomorrow morning, . Do i lube the chain before washing it or can I lube after?

Also Am I ok to leave the chain un lubed over night? (bike is garaged, no damp)

Go out on it for a few hours and warm the chain up and then apply the lube and leave it to soak in, washing your bike and then adding lube after will just send it everywhere when you spin the wheel to move the chain.

Lube tonight, wash tomorrow, ride, lube chain again. That's what I'd do after washing it, get a good layer built up again
