Parking in York city centre?

Parking in York is crazy. General price for NCP stuff is around 2.40 per hour... racked up some big expenses while working in city lol

Problem with park and ride - at least some of them close at 8pm and no overnight parking.
Or at least no picking your car up the next day as they'll have kindly clamped it for you. Best check each site if you're planning on doing that.

I was about to point this out - I don't think any of the York park and rides allow overnight parking... I really don't understand why they do it - Oxford park and ride for example lets you park overnight and as far as I can tell the world hasn't ended.

Last time I was in York I paid £25.50 for 3 days parking at the premier inn near the station (expensed it!), but then moved my car a few hundred meters up the road and parked for free for the rest of the week... Think that's your best bet tbh - just get as close to the centre as you can before the parking restrictions appear and just walk from wherever that is.

I went a couple of weeks ago and stayed at Indigo Hotel and parked in a car park off George Street. Was pretty terrible and expensive to be fair.

York is tiny. Park somewhere outside the city walls and walk into the centre.

Yup. You can pretty much walk everywhere worth going to in York. And there are the tour buses that go round the city on a regular basis.

There really is no need to get on a tour bus. Walk the bar walls near the minster then just walk around the rest York.

Its not needed, no. But it can be interesting, as long as its a nice day.
