What did you do to your bike today?

Been after a new silencer for mine as the previous one I found was too big, too shiny and too quiet.

Took me a while as I was after something 'of the era' to my bike, but this came up and I bought it. Sounds immense.

I do really like those CBR6 F's & that's one of the better colours as well, No vid clip of the end can Blasting is Major Fail though

Passed her MOT. Some advisories but most will be fixed with replacing chain and sprockets and bits while it's all apart.

Oh! Fireskull did you take your car rather than bike today...and driving towards Botley at about 5PM? Think I passed you going to Hedge end

Wheel bearings will be the hardest bit/most expensive, I'd do the fork seals myself if you have the kit.

If you have stands and they're aren't seized in the wheel, bearings are dead easy to replace?

Not something I've done before and don't have the kit, wouldn't take that job unless I had someone watching over me. Left the bike with the garage until Tuesday.

Definitely easier and quicker than changing fork seals.

I'm still on my original seals and 68k miles,they don't seem to last long for you lot

Bearings cost sod all a pair for my rear wheel were a tenner and the garage just done them when they done my tyres no extra labour charge.

Replaced one fork seal on my Hornet, no problem, all ready to go back on the bike.

The other seal though won't budge. Can't get it off. Tried for a good 3 hours

Does it not come out using the inner leg as a slide hammer, the bushes inside pushing it out?

Yep, getting them out is simple. A plastic bag to get the new seals over the fork leg and a piece or drainpipe to use as a seal driver are the only specialist "tools" needed to refit them.

It's a messy but easy job.
