Replace Desktop with a Mini PC

Hi all, my first post here.

My old 2007 PC has been serving well as a family PC (I gave it to my GF a few years back) Dell Inspiron 530: Core 2 Duo 6750 with 8600 GT which over time I upped to 3GB and a Samsung SSD. It initially came with Vista (32bit) and over time I took advantage of MS offers - migrated to Win 8 (launch offer £15 I think it was) then 8.1 and Win 10 freebies. It runs everyday tasks well but in the interests space and tidiness, I was toying with the idea of replacing this with a mini PC.

Specifically, I've seen Chinese imports using Core i5 5200u which I'm assuming is a mobile chip.

My question: As these use a decade-newer architecture, how would performance compare (using the on-chip GPU) to my old C2D & 8600 GT? I'd shove in 8GB of the fastest RAM the mini could handle and a decent SSD.
