Any point in a ram speed upgrade?

Guessing it would make little to no difference for gaming but was considering changing to some 2133 xmp capable ram over what i have currently, 1600mhz. 2 sticks 2133 vs 4 of 1600.

I went from 1600 to 2133 on a z87 setup, yes it benches better in the likes of Cinebench, yes I'm told haswell enjoys fast ram but no I haven't seen any real world difference.

I'd say do it if you are also upgrading the amount of ram you have.

Same amount of ram 16 gig to 16 gig, was looking at some comparisons seems to make maybe a frame or 2 difference in some games. Blah :(

Dump 1.65v into the existing RAM you have and then overclock to 2000mhz? I've done it was real easy and I do think I see a difference in games.

lol this rams having none of it, won't overclock to even 1866.

Don't worry about it, unless you are specifically building a rig that is going to specifically require high speed ram so basically editing things 24/7 you will see no noticeable difference in anything else other than the fact IIRC more ram can cause CPUs to overclock less due to them being utilised more or something along those lines.

Yeah save your money.
I went from bargain basement DDR3 @1600 to Dominator Platinums that'll run 2400MHz and other than benches there's no difference... (Even in some benches like superpi the OCd ram was actually slower than stock)

I went the other way, 4x4gb of 2133mhz memory to 2x8gb of 1600mhz.
Same manufacturer, & other then in benchmarks (about 150 marks in Firestrike) there's no visible difference in performance when gaming.

Only reason I swopped is because my Haswell has a paddy with 4x sticks of memory when overclocked.

Interesting. I got some ddr3 2400mhz for free. I suppose there's no harm in replacing my 1600mhz sticks with this and sell the older stuff.

For free then yep go for it.
