Not sure R-Tech deal with those. They specialise in 1.8T's and 2.0 TFSi's mostly.

Worth a try though - also try Ecotech Performance.

Yeah, noticed they did pricing for CR TDI's, but forgot to look if they did 1.6'd. Would be worth a call though I'd think.

Both generic remaps

R-Tech is one of those places that custom make a map for the car.
They are next to Dynodaze (whos doing my clutch and flywheel on monday).

2 mins drive from me :D

London remaps claim that they make custom unique maps and that its not "standard map" but as long as its fine im ok with it. Do you guys think it might damage or reduce the life cycle of anything in the car if it were to get remapped.

For a 1.6tdi I wouldn't bother with a specialist custom map, I'd just find the nearest revo dealer or get a bluefin etc. switchable map device, plug and go. I'd only bother going to somewhere like RTech for a proper fully featured performance map on a performance engine.

As for life of the car, the clutch might die quicker than anticipated but nothing drastic. Similarly the turbo in theory might have a reduced lifespan but nothing to worry about unless you're keeping the car for a decade in all likelihood.

Personally I would go for the DTUK tuning box as you have the option to remove it when you sell and put on your next car also you have different maps to match your driving style.

A tuning box will never get as much out of the engine as a remap, neither will it ever be as economical if that's your bag.

Essentially they adjust the signalling to the boost pressure sensor and fuel rail sensor so that the ECU gives more fuel and boost in relation to what the base map actually dictates. They are more sophisticated than the old variable resistors of old, and they have a degree of intelligence over how they provide gains at any particular point on the throttle curve, but like I said earlier, a remap will give you more.

I've got a DTUK box on my A4 as I wanted a solution that was removable, but now it's out of warranty I'd get it remapped properly if I were keeping it.
