Radiator question!

Fairlý new home, 2 years roughly!

Upstairs most radiators are controlled by the thermostat however the 2 rear bedrooms have the manual dial on the radiator! In one room this seems to work fine, but in the babies room, number 1 setting is absolutly boiling! Like you can smell the heat coming off it! Cant be right and worried it could be dangerous

Any ideas what this could be?

Is it on the right way round? Older ones had to be on the flow (the one that gets hot first). Newer ones apparently can go on either but I'd probably still put them on the flow side.

If in doubt replace it, they aren't expensive at at all but you will need to drain the system down lower than the rad inlet.

I doubt it is dangerous, that rad is just working on full whack.

Worst case scenario, if the advice above does not help, just replace the TRV if not doing its job.

Wind the lockshield valve, on the opposite end of the radiator to the TRV, down a little.

Repeat until it brings the temperature down to a more acceptable level.
