I've just purchased a GTX 1080 so need to upgrade my monitor as it's only 1080p @ 60hz.

My preference is a 27" IPS with 2560 x 1440 @ 144hz. G-Sync too if that's recommended, not sure if needed or not.

Don't care about the aesthetics of it, just want a good quality panel.

Im in the same boat with same requirements but seems like these are currently the only options at 27' IPS, 2560x1440, 144hz and Gsync.

Back light bleed seems to be the biggest issue with IPS but affects all the screens but maybe someone with these screens can weigh in on this.

You can get monitors without Gsync and with Freesync (AMD cards only) for cheaper though. However it seems every post I have read favour having the tech.

Those are exactly what I'm looking for. Anyone have any input on the quality etc on them?

Oh and thanks for links!

Gsync is amazing, I would not buy a monitor without it, ofcourse if you have ATI card go for freesync.

G-Sync it is then!

I quite like the idea of a curved monitor but not too keen on ultra wide.

I think that's what it has come down to. Heading more towards the Acer as reviews seem to suggest it has better quality control over the Asus

If it makes you feel better I brought mine thinking the same thing and awhile I did get some glow I'm very happy with it having moved from another 1440p/60hz monitor with no glow, you get so much extra that I can look past the tiny amount of glow.

@hornetstinger I was going to get a 27 inch 1440p but your post inspired me to go UW. You should get overclockers commission!

Think i will be able to run on 7700k o/c'ed to 4.8 ghz and 1080? Looking for 80+ fps in battlefield, H1Z1 etc.

I imagine 3440x1440 instead of 2560x1440 requires quite a bit more GPU power to run.

Out of all the ones I've seen, my preference is the Acer XB271HU. From what I've read, the Asus PG269Q has worse quality control issues, it costs over £100.00 more and has the same panel as the Acer. With that said, the Acer's quality control isn't MUCH better than the Asus, although apparently better. These issues are what's putting me off buying one.

Is the quality control really that bad? When you read around it sounds very bad (in that 90% of them are crap) but then people are more likely to complain/write about/leave a negative review if something is faulty than if it were good.

Do I go for it and hope I get a good panel or not bother? I don't know.

Well my GPU clocks seem a bit all over the place when gaming at the moment , no idea why lol ,I did have to set the X34 at 90Hz though as at 100 I was getting a slight flickering when in games but I dont get that at 90 .

But personally I would be willing to consider B Grade too....my swift is B Grade and its perfect and was only £360 I think .

and I think getting a Monitor is a bit of a gamble all round at the moment, but as I said I've been lucky with the last two B Grades I have got :)

Got my X34 up and running! It was a B grade, lots of finger prints and will only overclock to 95 Hz but so far so good! No dead pixels, i consider myself quite lucky. Really pleased!

Thanks OC for a great deal! Great service and a great product. Very impressed.

Monitor is amazing for anyone thinking of getting one.
