I think I could ride it now with the tune its got but it requires a fair amount of auto correction in places so although its tempting I think I'll wait for a day on the dyno to fine tune it first.

Work has been full on the last few weeks which is great but it means there's not much time for bikes.

Have managed the odd hour here and there though and gave it a quick run down the road to check clutch etc before booking some dyno time.

Doesn't hold a steady rpm and isn't a nice ride yet but it rode.

Got a weird noise when I turn it off though, only suggestions off OSS have been the turbo slowing down or its possessed!

Thanks, been a long journey!

Fits in the van easily.
Also cleared up a few ecu questions with Specialist Components so all set for tomorrow.

Hopefully make a bit of progress.

Well it stayed in one piece, mainly...

Lost a couple of header bolts during the afternoon and all the cam cover bolts loosened resulting in more oil over Dans dyno!

Its mapped from 20% to 100% throttle and runs nice, runs better a little leaner than normal turbo bikes and it may need leaning out a bit more yet.

Weirdly it makes the same power at 70-80% throttle as it does at 100% but it requires more fuel, not sure how thats working but its something to look into.

Ended the afternoon trying to get a smoother idle and stop the jerking at low throttle openings.

Sadly no end of day vid as Dan had to shoot while I put the bike back together.

So a good check over is needed and its safe enough to get some road miles on it before the next dyno session to iron out the low rpm running and see what kind of power it can make.

Checked the engine over and found an issue that could have been costly.

Missing cam sprocket bolt. The other has loosened so the sprocket moves on the cam as well. The intake is fine, both had loctite and were torqued to the specs in the manual.

Found the missing bolt though when I couldn't turn the engine over by hand and looked down the cam chain tunnel.

Hate to think of the damage it would have caused if I'd tried to start it.

Bolt looks a little beaten up so I guess it was running for a short time with the bolt floating about.

So I now need to find a way of holding the sprockets in place and making sure these bolts don't come loose again.

The valve clearances seem a little tighter than they were so I don't think any piston to valve contact has taken place.

Very bizarre I have rebuilt a few gs & gsx motors and never experienced that kind of behaviour the bolt looks the wrong pitch to start with even tho is has received some damage.

Its definitely the right bolt as they're M7, got a bag with cam sprockets and bolts in, they don't fit anywhere else.

Just cocked it up I think, not done up tight enough and maybe I should use stronger loctite.

Got a free degree wheel off a friend so made an adaptor to hold it using a couple of trigger wheels, bit chunky but its all free stuff and much better than the card one I used last time.

Just need to pin the trigger wheels.

Checked valve clearances as well and got a couple of shims ordered.

Dayyyyyum

Inline 4? Is that meth injection I spot also?

If I remember right he had blue drum of VP racing fuel so at a guess was methanol & yes in line four.

Very easy to pop the motor if you not careful I remember him saying he will be restricting the power a little for the owner until he come to grips with it on the strip :D
