I've got an SSD and some older HDD's.

I'd like to RAID 0 the HDD's but only if the SSD (which won't be in RAID array) will still be able to support TRIM.

It's a Samsung 840 Pro and would be on a Z170 board.

Are you going to be using raid 0?

did a little look online and came across this link

https://communities.intel.com/thread/105184

with the below quote.

This message was posted on behalf of Intel Corporation
The Intel® Z170 Chipset supports Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST), and Trim functionality in RAID 0 is supported with Intel® RST version 11.0 or greater.

For additional information about this topic, please review the following advisory:

Learn about the Advantages of TRIM and How to Use It with Your Intel® SSD

so if the above site is correct, trim should work in raid 0 configuration.

I have just changed my setup.

I have 2 x Samsung 850s 250gb drives which I have stuck in to raid 0 so its one drive instead of two.

I have a third SSD for the OS.

when I run this is command prompt

fsutil behavior query disabledeletenotify

its set to 0 so TRIM is enabled if it was 1 then it would be disabled, this is on a x58 board using intel controller.

im using windows 7
