Crossfire AMD Radeon R9 270x

My friend gave me his graphics card now I have 2 of the AMD Radeon R9 270x. I wanted to crossfire them so I went out and brought the crossfire bridge so I could link them up. I installed the new graphics card into my PC and I got it all setup and working fine.

I've been using the software CAM by NZXT to monitor my computer temperatures and watch the fps while I game and I've realised that my first GPU is putting in a lot of load while my second GPU is not doing much. I'm not sure if I need to change any settings around to maybe try and equalise both GPU's to the same load so it can run smoother, as right now I'm only getting a 5FPS boost in my games.

Case: NZXT H440 Razer edition
Processor: Intel core i5-7600k
Water Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62
Video Card: x2 AMD Radeon R9 270x
Motherboard: MSI Z170A Gaming M5
Memory: Corsair 16gb ( 2x8gb )
SSD: Samsung SSD 850 Evo 250gb

depends if the games you play support Xfire

Might be worth checking in AMD's control panel that Crossfire is enabled under Global Options (I think that's what it's called), and also you need to be running the game in full screen mode for Crossfire to work.
