It does what the current ones do, but in a slightly different manner (the beam angles are diagonal rather than horizontal+vertical). I don't think you'll be able to mix and match them with the existing models, but if you're just using a third one on its own (e.g. for a seated experience away from your main play area) then I'd think it should be fine.
