Cleaned, clayed, dried. Then polished off some minor scratches with the DA. Did a rather good job, even if I say so myself. Super resin polished. Waxed. Cleaned windows inside and out. BOOM.

What car were you driving? Gotta love the 320d and 116d brigade they all seem to think they are driving an untouchable performance car because of the mega torquezzz that lasts all of 3000 revs.
A 1.3L Starlet Glanza V, running a whole 211BHP on a hybrid CT9 turbo (zero spool time), car only weighs around 860kg however so it accelerates like poop of a shovel.

Yea I get people in low end BMW diesels try to race me all the time lol. It's pretty funny :p

They seem to love to debadge them and make it look like it's something it's not. But there's no hiding the cloud of soot and tractor sound.
I think that because they buy a BMW or Audi etc the assume it's quick. My car atm is on par with an older Audi S3 (hatchback) and new Golf R on the straights, only because of power to weight ratio.

Just seems to be diesel owners in general, get it all the time especially in the Mustang and 9/10 I just don't bother, I just give them a rev, no need to do anything else. :D

Though a MK2 Focus RS was on my tail today kept doing the accelerate up to my ass and go whoosh bang to try and bait me, well I bit, haha, he pulled alongside couple miles down road and was like jesus what is under the bonnet, my response a V8. :D
Always give the thumbs up to cars like yours after a bit of a play :D may be able to keep up for a few gears when the fordged engine and turbo is done.....Or not....

Fitted some new wheels in a colour I did not like, but now I think I like it, LOL??????

Need more multi spokes coming off of the main ones and a bigger centre imo, they look lightweight tho. Colour looks good, with the calipers and the lines of the car look awesome. What exhaust are you running on that? I hope you have it de-catted :D Let that V8 roar and spit flames.

Always wanted a Mustang 390 GT in the green with the stripes, with the modern engine and drivetrain in BULLITT style :D

Love it :D bet thats a fun car to blast about in. That must be rapid taking off at the lights given its weight. Could be classed as a sleeper car really as most people see a car that size and just think it's a little 1 litre 80bhp runabout.

I remember giving an Alfa 147GTA a good run in my old 250bhp Rover Turbo. The 2 cap wearing gentlemen were giving me all sorts of hand singals because they couldn't outdrag me on a motorway.

I just laughed at them.

I can't say I really notice people trying to race me in the Scoob. I had years of fun in my Rover so am well aware of the capabilities of other cars. I have nothing to prove so don't even entertain the diesel ****-jockeys.

I bet that Starlet is rapid though, poor old clueless BMW driver thought he could pass an old hatch and got owned. I guess that's what happens when you try keeping up with the Jones's.

Mrs mentioned the Focus kept stalling on her the other week and it struggles to get up hills. So i took it out yesterday and she wasnt joking.

Took off the TB and cleaned it, Maf Sensor and filter and checked all the vacuum pipes etc. Then i started up the car and noticed red hot heat coming from the manifold, this is with seconds of the car being turned on from cold.

Took a video:

Would you agree with me that the gasket is shot? Anyone know if the 1.6 petrol manifold has coolent going through it aswell which might explain the liquid around it?

Cheers

The liquid looks more like oil probably from the rocker gasket. Clean it up when cool and you should be able to trace it better.

Does it stink? It's certainly make good a racket but could be the way the phone picks up your engine noise anyway

Yeah it's nippy, has launch control as well with the Greddy E-Manage Ultimate, spits a few flames too :D I call it grandmas shopping car haha. Cant wait to get the forged engine done with a TD04 hybrid, should make around 320bhp then :D

You are right it is oil. I can't tell if its blowing warm air or just the heat coming off the exhaust manifold. Took it out earlier and it drove fine.

Just gunna let a garage have a look over it and see what they think.

So true lol :) I drive my 235i very very conservatively but when some boy racer is tail gating me I have no issue having a bit of fun :D

Could be a cracked fannymould, used to be an issue on the older Fords (Escort, Capri, Cortina). The heat guard needs removing to check properly though and those bolts will be seized due to the heat.

Popped into Lohen Mini on Friday, got the following work done:
- 17% supercharger pulley reduction
- New intercooler
- New Milltek exhaust
- Some remediation work
- Oil service as the sump plug needed replacing

Nice little increase in torque and power. Feels more responsive.

During their inspection they found a few other bits that need doing:
- New sump gasket
- Replacing all the brake lines as they are corroding badly
- Top mounts need replacing
