In NCP set Gsync on, Vsync on. In game, set Vsync off.

Cheers mate, can I ask why you set vsync on in panel? I know in games you need it off so it doesn't conflict with gsync.

Do you want vsync though? It introduces a **** tonne of input lag. I'd have thought you'd be better off just capping frames at 142 do it stays within gsync range.

Just cap the framerate one under the refresh rate using RSS.

I have Vsync on/Gsync on in NCP and Vsync off in game. With the capped framerate one under it makes for a nice smooth experience.

Is it normal to hit the power limit and voltage limit without evening overclocking the card?

That's because GPU Boost Boost the card to clock at those limits automaticallyv

So how can I clock the card more? Its at around 1847 with GPU boost, I'm able to push it to 1950ish using an overclock but its obviously hitting the power limit, how do I get around this? Or do I just not clock the card?

I've tried increasing the power target and the voltage percentage, both had little effect.

No really sure what you mean... is it crashing when u tune it to 1950?

You can do the shunt mod but tbh there's very little gain with overclocking, you can leverage GPU Boost by AIOing your card, or just play some games at stock

Nope, It runs fine at 1950, I'm just worried its damaging the card if its hitting its power / voltage limit.

Do people using the Aorus extreme use the official app and use overclock mode? Can't see any difference that I've noticed. I've seen it boost to 1986mhz out of the box which I'm pretty happy with!

No there's not much point to the modes on all cards to be fair. As they will always boost higher anyway.

If anything you may be gimping the card by forcing it to a lower speed

Set it to OC mode, set any your LCD options, then uninstall the official app and use afterburner for overclocking/fan control.

Got around to installing ASUS GPU tweak as afterburner wasn't giving me access to voltage control.

Gone from 1974 stable boost to 2050 with the voltage slider maxed. Pretty pleased. Any long term issue with doing that? It's barely 10% after all...

According to nvidia, overvolting all the way shortens the life of your card down to a year.

That's crazy! Stock volts it is then.

Anyone else running over volts? Is this accepted or disputed? Seems odd that with such a severe consequence they would allow othe software to do it at all?

The slider isn't so much opening up additional voltage as it is allowing the card to run at maximum spec according to the documentation. Confusing.

Edit - a strix card running ASUS own software. Didn't have to unlock anything or accept any health warnings. Odd.

Unless you solder or liquid metal you cannot overvolt a pascal card
