Hi,

Looking at moving house and we've found a really nice one but it has no mains gas. It has an 8 year old combi boiler fuelled from a large style LPG tank.

What are people's views on LPG as an energy source? I understand it's more expensive and you're somewhat limited with provider choice. Is this one to just walk away from? Or an opportunity to knock money off the asking and consider swapping for another source? I guess a change would cost 10k+, maybe a solar system?

Thanks :)

Find out if there's a local syndicate with Calor etc, we save 20p on Calors rack rate through ours. Filling it is a bit of a stinger at the best part of £500 for a full tank refill but we tend to use our big wood burning stove for main heat source and have a modern boiler which runs pretty efficiently.

My parents have a large place in lpg. Filled once a year for £250. They do spank the two log burners though.

It really isn't expensive and is much cleaner than oil
