As for NK?? Anyone with half a brain cell could very well see they were talking out of their proverbial backsides.

The only muppet in this whole farce is Trump, him believing that NK were going to launch some missiles at Guam.

Like I said anyone with half a brain cell could see what this was. Says it all about Trump, who thought NK were being serious:p.

Can you imagine a POTUS not taking a sovereign state seriously when they're threatening to attack the Continental United States with nuclear weapons, it would be the end of them as a President if that state then followed through with their threats and it had been laughed it off. He'd go down in history as the man who let thousands die when given a warning and an opportunity to do something about it. It would be completely unacceptable for him not to make it entirely clear about the consequences of those actions which is what he did.

I don't think it's that one dimensional to be honest,

Those sanctions bite and they bite hard - even China is enforcing them by preventing imports of things like Iron/Coal etc, because China likes making $trillions from the rest of the world and doesn't want the upset.

It won't let NK get too far off the leash, I suspect this back down of NK is probably being accompanied by other things that we won't see or hear about - maybe China will intervene in the missile development... A nuclear armed NK that can target the west doesn't help China in any way - it hurts them, so I think they'll act accordingly.

They aren't REALLY enforcing them though. NK has been getting resources and equipment illegally from Russia and China all along.

What needs to happen is they get completely penned in, internet lines cut, etc.

NK never threatened to do that, they threatened to fire a missile into the sea near Guam as a show of strength. It was various media outlets who span the story that it would be a nuke lol.

yep blown out of all proportion, they also are extremely unlike to even be able to launch a long range nuke, there's no evidence that they have shrunk the warhead or over come the ballistic heat shield needed, ontop of that their long range missiles have an extremely poor success rate.
people worrying about holidays to america, japan etc are utterly insane.

however yet again its diabolical the world is happy to let millions of humans suffer and do nothing about it, the world should unite go in and then actually have a credible plan, large enough army and finances to rebuild and secure the country for what will probably need baby sitting for 50 years. Although i imagine despite the brainwashing and education, once they have free access to internet and infrastructure gets built etc most will switch reasonably soon.

"The U.S. and its vassal forces will dearly pay for the harshest sanctions and pressure and reckless military provocations against the DPRK.

"The U.S. is seriously mistaken if it thinks that its mainland would be safe from across the ocean."

"If the U.S. fails to act with discretion, persisting in its reckless attempt to stifle the DPRK, the latter will not hesitate to use any form of ultimate means."

Aye sure, just threatened Guam. It amazes me people think Trump is some how worse than KJU, to the point they're actively taking his side over Trump on the internet. It's basically laughable.

No evidence - they appeared to make rapid progress in rocket tech lately but that is a whole different ball game to the warhead itself and largely seems to have come via Iran (who also have the access to the same rocket tech Ukraine are being accused of supplying NK). At the same time I'd be wary of underestimating how long until they do have a working at least medium range rocket with rudimentary nuclear warhead capability. IMO they will likely demonstrate something along these lines before the end of the year or so.

From what I can see a lot of NKs in the countryside are increasingly disillusioned and desperate to the point more and more will take chances on defecting despite being taught their whole life that it is worse than what they have. I think a lot of them would adjust pretty quickly with access to the internet and basic supplies. Supposedly a lot of the very oldest generation and their immediate descendants have some awareness of the world before the current regime and while they'd take some adapting to catch up to modern life less completed conditioned than some. The worst affected are probably going to be children of the current elites/slightly better off as they've lived in much more of a bubble and encouraged to believe as any acting other wise on their part would threaten the little privilege their family has. Also those of military age especially those who are part of the officer class are going to be some of the ones that have the most difficulties with adjusting - the officer class is basically something not unlike Hitler Youth.

Hmm looks like NK is starting to roll out (in numbers) a longer range MLRS platform (based on KN-09) which would unfortunately be able to reach Seoul with ease and by their nature these are used for volume fire - unlike the threat with their massed artillery where the reality was only about 3% could actually hit Seoul (though that still put 100s of thousands of SK civilians in range).

NK believes making nukes gives them power over others but wars are won with diplomacy. A relation here and there can affect the country's economy.

Well actually, NK having nukes does give them power in terms of diplomatic leverage over their neighbours. Also, wars don't tend to be won by diplomacy most of the time. Wars are what happens when diplomacy breaks down. Brute force and military might are what win most wars.

Japanese government warns North Korea missile headed toward northern Japan
The Japanese government has warned that a North Korean missile is headed toward the Tohoku region at the northern end of the country, according to Japanese broadcaster NHK.
NHK also reported that Japan took no action to shoot down the projectile.
Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe told reporters that it appeared that a ballistic missile was fired and that it flew over the country.

South Korea's Yonhap, citing the military, said that Pyongyang fired a ballistic missile which flew through Japan's airspace.
A South Korean military official told NBC News that the projectile was fired around 5:57 a.m. local time.
