Post in General Hardware.

As above, let us know the budget and if the extras are needed.

Tell us what games your son plays too. Going by your post, I'm guessing you have no experience of building a PC so unless you know someone that can either help you or build it for you, you can get a pre-built one. Mention that in your post too as it will help.

As above you can see buying parts can get you much better build sometimes then pre-built

2 months ago ocuk did a VR headset and pc for £999...that was a steal.

Since you mention you can't build it yourself

My basket at Overclockers UK:

    • Security Software:Unwanted
    • Graphics card:Zotac GeForce GTX 1050Ti OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

Total: £813.08
(includes shipping: £14.10)

Not sure how old your son is , but laying down a lot of cash might be hard to stomach when parts like the GPU get a new version every year. Any card inside that you get should be fine for 2 generations at least but it gets pretty easy for any kid to want the latest and greatest next year

Cost of parts by themselves

Notice 16GB of 3000hz ram instead of quoted 2400hz in pre-built . Speed will effect the performance quite a bit for Ryzen based pcs

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £774.09
(includes shipping: £11.70)

Personally, when my kids hit gaming game , I'd aim for something like this - although I hope to keep that as long as possible even when I have a Degree in games design hehe
