Hi Guys,

So have recently migrated over to my new case (Be Quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 in white) and have discovered that one of the two 3.0 ports appears dead, while the other works perfectly. They're both connected to the motherboard via the same cable.

I've gone into device manager and the only issue I can find in there is one of the "standard sata ahci controller" which is showing an An I/O adapter hardware error has occurred. I'm hoping this is an easy fix and not a hardware issue as I'll be damned if I'm ripping my system out and sending the case back.

Just to be clear there is no reported errors in USB controllers drop down.

I can't understand why one port works, while the other is dead when both are connected by the same cable etc and that the only issue is the ahci controller.

Have you tried unplugging the USB 3 cable to the motherboard and checking for bent pin/s on the USB 3 header? Also try the cable on another header if your motheboard has a 2nd one available.
