3 x 8-pins!? Might have to go with the reference card this time then.

I'd agree.

The ref PCB IMO has good components, in the past a ref PCB GPU vs custom I gained no enhanced OC. What mattered more was good old "Silicon Lottery", I had several ref PCB cards out of Hawaii/Fiji that clocked better than custom.

150W is what PCI-Sig class a 8 pin plug at, the hardware can support 288W with even standard terminals/wires, link (image created from source). So IMO anyone using separate power cables for each 8 pin plug on ref PCB has at least 576W available to them. I think normal air/water cooled users will probably have issues with GPU prior to reaching the level of OC needed to cause issues to power delivery on decent PSU with adequate wattage, etc.

Only see AIB solutions as good for anyone after a quieter/improved cooler vs ref blower. Anyone into adding Morpehus 2, water block, etc I reckon ref PCB is best. For past few gens of AMD cards I haven't also seen much support for waterblocks for non ref PCB by various manufacturers either. AMD GPUs seem to get neglected on aspects like these :( .

But I do want a quiet one, the reference blowers sound loud!

Noise didn't seem too shabby, for me temps were pants, that's was fully stock. Bare in mind I applied waterblock after ~30min experience of ref blower. So my experience of it is not vast.

Apologies if this has been asked.

Just got a Powercolor RX Vega 64, Are you authorised to remove the Warranty sticker to fit a waterblock or does it mess up the warranty?

Also is OCUK still responsible for any RMA as per the below post
https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/t...ns-to-overclockers-uk.18571601/#post-25635583

Gibbo did not confirm via trust/post in relevant thread. Last time on a differing matter OCUK CS cited usual manufacturer warranty T&C I opted to go with a differing AIB. Gigabyte, this also seems as if depending on which rep you talk to you could get yey or nay on WB'ing. So just to protect myself I removed sticker with slight heat applied via hairdryer and keep it on sticker backing paper if needed ;) .

Thanks might have to try

Card has potential but the hot spot just sky rockets, if I reset everything and apply Turbo it just crashes with the hot spot flying straight to 95deg

NP :).

Mine was touching max 105C for hotspot in just a run of SP 4K. TBH I think I may not have needed the hairdryer, if I'd just run GPU again it would have heated the sticker up! :p.

I would have liked to have tested the GPU more as it was "out the box". But I just couldn't get the screams of all those billions of transistors out of mind as they reached volcanic temperatures! :p.

WB halved what I saw out of the box.

I've seen 105 degrees on the hot spot so I've tweaked the voltage down and given the fan a max of 75%. That keep the temps in check but damn it's friggin loud. I'm gonna wait and see if the 3x 8 pin Sapphire Vega actually has more performance than the regular V 64 and if not I'll stick an AIO on this as I can't live with the noise, not this much noise.

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Vega 64.
