1993 Vauxhall Astra Merit 1.4 8v (with the spi 60hp engine

). Owned it for 6 months in 2003/2004 then bought a 1990 Cavalier SRI 130 for £180! The Astra was the worst car I've ever owned (slow, handled like a boat, ugly, poor build quality, terrible fuel economy) and whilst the Cav was pretty terrible it felt fast to me when I was 18 :cool:

1995 Peugeot 205 1.1 "Mardi Gras"

Purchased while still learning to drive in 2006 for £500 and 71K on the clock, amazingly for a 205 it did come with electric windows & central locking (one of the last ones apparently). Owned the car until early 2009 and unfortunately met it's demise when I was involved in a minor incident with the front end and sold it on to a mate who repaired it & kept it going until 2010... Though one of few cars that I've owned to date that never seemed to suffer from corrosion as I recall!

1996 Skoda Felicia 1.3 LX.

Was actually great fun to drive, albeit with no power steering. No central locking either.

Always wanted to put the engine from one in my Allegro. Never did manage it though, only an MG 1.3 with gasflowed head. Still, bit of a step up from an athsmatic 1l!
