I just thought I would create a thread where people can discuss their PC Setup- How many machines & the Tasks they are used for.

Also what your thinking is around why you have these & your thoughts around upgrading them or keeping them useful

This is my Daily Driver & is used for most Tasks including Gaming (WoW, Eve etc but also going to play some Warhammer Total War)

I also using it for any Browsing, Office stuff or Running some VM’s Via Workstation

This machine is used as a spare for any of the other Tasks I carry out mainly Wow or whether someone jumps on quickly to browse or do documents


My machine are usually just Bang for Buck machines rather than being all powerful as I play Games at 1080p


I was wondering what people use on a regular Basis or have lying around spare just in case?


Its quite fun to see what approach others have taken over the Years whether its on Price or Performance - or even both

needed a psu and hdd, so currently has my Evga gs 550w gold supernova fitted, but no hard drive, keep it as it is then it be used for old games, testing, storage, but i have an Icute cube case(lcd screen, slide off case panel, opens like a sandwich) i got for £5 that needs fixing up and will either house my q6600 with a m-atx board of some kind plus the rest or a newer build for gaming, htpc, storage which will probably be connected to a 32" led tv at other end of my bedroom(current pc setup in corner next to bed).


got a Raspberry Pi W zero which is sort of set up for retro games and purchased recently an LED cheap brand projector to use with, but its been months so not sure on its status.

I have a 6600K/GTX 1070/16gb with 3 x 500gb SSD's/34 inch Samsung monitor for work/gaming, a 2017 Surface Pro (base Core M3, 4gb, 128gb) with pencil and kb

Son has an older i7/16gb/2tb/7870 gaming machine and some generic i3/8gb/1tb laptop.

And my favourite machine in the house is the Raspberry Pi 3 running Kodi to stream movies from work machine but mostly to run Retropi (128gb images ftw)
