Does RJ11 length affect speed?

Im doing a bit of moving around with my living room.

I was needing to extend my RJ11 from Sky micro filter but I was wondering am I better.

1. RJ11 to RJ11 longer keeping the micro filter next to phone socket.

2. RJ11 to Phone Socket letting me move the micro filter further away.

Preferably option 2 would be better for me but does this effect my broadband speed? I have Sky Fibre.

Also I just measured and I would need around 30ft of cable.

Yes it will affect the speed as its essentially a longer line until it reaches the router.

Ideally you want the RJ11 to the router to be as short as possible and have longer networking (e.g. cat5e) cables going to places instead.

If will affect it marginally. If you use a twisted pair cable rather than a cheapo flat phone extension bought from a DIY store though then it won't really have an impact.

Ok thanks for input. Ill keep router were it is next to phone socket and run two extra ethernet cables along to the tv unit.

Just means a bit of drilling to hide router cables but easily done.
