Hi people
I have pulled a hard drive out of my d-link nas device to replace it with a bigger drive but I was hoping to re-use the old drive in my windows pc.
I have placed it in a usb caddy but it isn't appearing in device manager or disk management so I'm not sure how to get access to it to reformat for windows?
Any advice appreciated.

As a first step is the USB caddy recognised by Windows? that should show as a device/controller regardless of whether the drive is functional or not.

Just to conclude this thread....I tried the USB caddy in a USB socket that's connected directly to my motherboard and it was recognised straight away? (was trying in one of the usb's that I always use in my keyboard before)
Showed up in disk management deleted the existing partitions and all was good.
Thanks for taking time to reply - appreciated.
