Buying two separate kits of memory that bad?

A couple of weeks ago I bought a 2x 4GB kit of ddr4 to go with a ryzen CPU.

I'm now considering buying another kit so I can run 16GB total. I'll get the same kit as before but do realise it may be slightly different.

I've read mixed views on if it'll even work so thought I'd ask here, as you're a trusty bunch! :)

Yeah that's fine, people often add more ram. Getting the same kit avoids the common pitfalls.

lol.

Typically, it's ill-advised to mix memory kits. Might be best if you post what memory kits you're looking at.

Im not going to be trying to overclock it, just running it at stock speeds. Is there still a chance it wont hit the default speeds/timings etc?

Thanks all!
