Actually it is a amazing that when you take the stuff out of the plastic packaging and bag them into food bags how much less space it takes up. Some things come vaccum sealed, like the chicken fillets 2.5kg, they have to be rebagged. But the stuff like the burgers, two in a plastic carton, these can be reduced massively in size easily.

Somewhere in the middle.
I find that when I freeze loads of meat I can rarely be bothered to defrost it so end up eating other stuff instead.

For that reason I tend to avoid stockpiling loads of stuff.

Their prices are decent but to be honest supermarkets etc are about the same.

I've been using them quite a lot recently, £10 for 5kg for chicken (thanks to an offer) every fortnight, then I just top up the order to hit the £25 minimum order fee.

- Chicken has been fine, not a lot / any water added - overall I'm impressed so far.
- The steak burger I had last night was good :)
- The slow cook goulash etc
- Sausages I recently brought have also been fairly good.

Customer service has been fairly good also. I've had unable to deliver (due to all that snow in December) - replacement shipment sent. Also the chicken arriving in packages opened within the box (refund given / or offer of replacement next day). I can't really ask for more then that.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) and Food Standards Scotland (FSS) have today published details of a recall of meat products by Muscle Food.

Muscle Food is recalling certain meat products supplied by DB Foods Ltd due to incorrect use-by dates.
- DB foods apparently own muscle foods

..

if musclefoods sell stuff from Brookfield then could be good

Musclefood chicken is generally very good, decent sized breasts with no added water. Only ever had an issue with the packaging once and they replaced straight away.

I think their extra lean steak mince is worth while when its on special, really nice tasting, meaty mince.

The rest of it however, meh.

Most of their meat comes from eastern Europe so I tend to avoid.

Yeah I was the same with Westin Gourmet. I had one order from them, saw the country of origin for the meat and never ordered from them again. It might come across as snobby, but I prefer knowing that the meat I buy is British.
