Lenovo work machine ram issue

Computer was working fine.

I installed a second 2Gb ram module. Same speed as existing one.
Upon boot, I get nothing on screen and two beeps from pc.

I removed the new ram module and I still get two beeps from Pc.

I've tried taking the mobo battery out and switching the ram modules around...

Any ideas why I have broken it even using original ram module?

P.s I have checked all the cablig etc and all seems fine. (The new ram module works fine in another pc)

I am having a very similar issue. Wanting to upgrade to 8gb ram from four. How did you solve it...four years later I guess?
