How do i backup my computer? (noob question)

OK, so I am upgrading my computer, i am buying a new SSD with 2TB space.

i want to backup my windows 10 computer, however i do not want to back everything up.

i want to backup:
windows 10 software
certain programs


so i have a few programs i want to keep but i have a lot i just want to not copy across. how would i copy just the windows 10 software and a few programs?

games i can just redownload from steam.

Use the migration tool downloaded from the SSD manufacturer to clone your drive onto the SSD. Take out the old disk. Uninstall and delete what you don't want any more.
