Hello All,

I'm not the best technical person regarding computers. i have been looking for a new laptop for a while i have come across a company that is offering a i5-8600k with an 1070 8gb in a laptop. i didn't think you could get a desktop CPU in a laptop.

would this be any good with cooling?

i cant link because of the forums rules.

The chassis OEM is Clevo. I personally have had 2 such laptops with and i7 4th gen and an i7 6700 (non)K. Cooling was not an issue, the K series CPUs will run hotter as they turbo higher.

Great mobile workstations and gaming rigs imo.

The cooling will be adequate, try and see if they delid or offer better thermal paste and invest in a laptop cooling pad a U2 or U3 depending on size of laptop.

Thanks for the reply, I've have found a US retailer that is doing the same laptop but 17inch compared the UK 15inch for £400.00 cheaper. It also has 2 x SSD.

Is arctic silver 5 a good paste?
