New laptop for £300-400

I have £400, I will be using it for student stuff mainly and portability. If it can run older games on low settings that is also a plus but its not a must. Just need something efficient and good for the money spent.

Have found this so far

But I have no idea what I am looking at or for, and if said laptop is reputable or not. It is also a refurb and never sure if thats trustworthy or not.

Hp ProBook 640 G1 4th Gen Core i5 Laptop

And £400 for 4 generations old I5 seems too strong money.
