Steam Link App for iOS Rejected by Apple

On Monday, May 7th, Apple approved the Steam Link app for release. On Weds, May 9th, Valve released news of the app. The following morning, Apple revoked its approval citing business conflicts with app guidelines that had allegedly not been realized by the original review team. Valve appealed, explaining the Steam Link app simply functions as a LAN-based remote desktop similar to numerous remote desktop applications already available on the App Store. Ultimately, that appeal was denied leaving the Steam Link app for iOS blocked from release. The team here spent many hours on this project and the approval process, so we're clearly disappointed. But we hope Apple will reconsider in the future.

They want to sell plants vs zombies and angry birds on their own platform.

Makes sense, mobile gaming is a gigantic market right now. They're still a company of hipster ***** though.

Apple won’t let through any apps where you can buy content directly from a third party when it could be bought via Apples own distrubution system.

So you can’t buy videos on the Amazon prime app and you can’t buy audiobooks from the Audible app.

It boils down to Apple wanting their cut of digital sales, so I suspect you can either buy games on the Steam app or it’s the microtransactions that have got it axed.

Yep, that's what you call a "real situation" folks. When people might purchase a game through steam. Can just imagine Steve Jobs turning in his grave every time someone spends a dollar at any company other than Apple. :D

Apple seem to want to milk every penny in the world through any means possible.

IMO it's one of the best companies in the world. Their products are far better than any product on the market. Everything works seamlessly.

Steam will come to IOS that's for sure.
