Google Photos - recovery?

Hi guys,

A friend has just synced her phone (photo's) to her Drive account and is reporting big losses of her phone photo's... There's nothing in Trash, is there anything that can be done Google's end?

I'm hoping she's kept some kind of backup on her PC :rolleyes:

Which phone? Can she still see them here?: https://photos.google.com/

What about the Google Photos app?

Or is she using a different app to sync to Google Drive and not Google Photos?

So it is... my bad, was doing everything last night a bit of a rush!

She's got a Samsung S8 I think, the photo's don't appear to be anywhere on the device. Google Photo's isn't showing any trace.

I think she rang both Samsung/Google support last night, with neither really offering anything in the way of a solution. I think she's currently recovering all her old pics off her previous phones - which she's kept fortunately!

theres a bunch of apps that can recover deleted photos, obviously if you overwrite them they can't be recovered.

Thanks mate, most need a rooted phone though which is a bit of an issue... Thing is, the photo's weren't from her current device but from the previous 3/4 - that's the weird part
