Is an upgrade possible or should I rebuild?

Hi guys,

I've been trying to play some new games recently and they all seem to still run really well on my rig with the exception of escape from tarkov.

I also will be looking to purchase off of the new upcoming titles shown at e3 so I wanted to get my rig ready. With my current setup should I upgrade? And if so how?

Or should I aim for a complete system rebuild? And again What would you recommend?

These are my current pc specs built using overvlovkers back in 2013:

EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (02G-P4-2670-KR)

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail

Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

BitFenix Colossus Blue LED Big Tower Windowed Case - White

XFX 850W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Silver' Power Supply

Sandisk Extreme SSD 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gbs Solid State Hard Drive - (SDSSDX-120G-G25)

Corsair Hydro H100 Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775LGA1155LGA1156LGA1366LGA2011AM2AM3) (CWCH100)

Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gbs 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003)

Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel kit

Sony Optiarc AD-5280S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM

Thanks in advance guys

Oh Canada!
Buy another memory kit of 2X4 that is identical to the one you have now and slot it in.
Overclock your CPU to 4.5Ghz. It's easily achieved on that chip and you have a motherboard and cooler to support it. It's not hard to do. Look up some Ivybridge overclocking guides.
Buy a GTX 1060 6GB if you will be playing at 1080P 60-75Hz. If you will play at 1440P (Even a 144Hz one) buy a 1070Ti. If you will play at 4K 60Hz Buy a 1080Ti.

Then you'll be good to go.

I currently have two pretty cheap monitors. I believe they are viewsonic 1080p full hd in 22inch. I use two of them.

That CPU will certainly manage a better video card. Just how far you go, though, depends on the future. I think right now the best card for your PC is 1060. That will be significantly faster than the 670. Any more than that, and your CPU will be holding it back a little, offsetting any gains, so less value for money. But if you plan on replacing the CPU in the next few years then I would go for a 1070 or better. Whether you need more RAM depends on the games you play. I would replace the card first then keep an eye on the memory situation to see how much you actually use.

As others pointed out, a new GPU will be a breath of life for the PC and should see you through for several years if you're content to sticking with 1080p monitors.
