spec me a power supply for the following system

i5 8400
MSI Z370 A PRO
16gb DDR4 G.Skill Ram
AMD RX 580 4GB
2x SATA 7,200 rpm hard drives 1TB each
1x SSD 125 gb
4xCase fans

According to the calculators my power consumption is around 485 watts, should this be on the 12V rail?

My usage is gaming, GTA 5, Fary Cry 5 etc, Battlefield 1.

Please spec PSU.

Im sure a nice 550w-600w PSU would do the job nicely... Super Flower Leadex are pretty decent

I was going to list that one as its highly recommended but out of stock, If you can get one then go for that over others

If you don't want to wait for stock of the Focus Gold then this Antec unit is only a tenner extra. It is also made by Seasonic and based on the Focus. You don't need 750W but the price is pretty good for this unit. You also have a rep on the forum (Ace Modder).

My basket at Overclockers UK:

4GB RX580 is pretty certain to consume less than 8GB model, which are around 200W.
(unless stupidly overvolted)
So total max gaming consumption is likely going to stay below 350W.
Meaning 750W is basically clearly oversized.

Yep but at the time the op posted, the 550W Seasonic was out of stock and there were no other semi/fully modular ones in stock either. The 550W Focus Gold is now back in stock though if he wants to go with that one. I only suggested the 750W Antec as it is a good price for a unit of that size (Only £10 more than the 550W Seasonic).
